Leading ICT company, MTN has reaffirmed its dedication to unlocking Africa’s potential and driving progress through its Sustainability Strategy and Ambition 2025.
During a visit by the third cohort of the Media Innovation Programme (MIP-3) to MTN’s headquarters, the company showcased its commitment to harnessing the benefits of the digital world to transform lives and communities.
Marina Madale, MTN Group Executive on Sustainability & Shared Value, emphasized the company’s belief that “everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life.” She outlined MTN’s Sustainability Strategy, which focuses on four key areas: “Doing for the planet: road to Net Zero,” “Doing for people: driving inclusion growth,” “Doing it right: managing key risks,” and “Doing for growth: boosting inclusive economic growth.”
Madale explained that MTN recognizes the critical role businesses play in society, saying, “We are committed to harnessing Africa’s potential and supporting her progress by unlocking the full benefits and potential of the digital world.”
Ethesen Malik, speaking on “Ambition 2025: Framing our Strategic Priorities,” highlighted the company’s focus on building the largest and most valuable platform businesses, driving industry-leading connectivity operations, and creating shared value.
Nifemi Oguntoye, Deputy Head of Presentation, TVC Communications and President, MIP-3 Cohort, praised MTN’s sustainability strategy, saying, “What resonated with me was MTN’s unwavering commitment to eco-responsibility and its ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.”
MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy aims to accelerate growth, drive industry-leading connectivity operations, and create shared value for stakeholders through responsible environmental, social, and governance practices.
