MultiChoice, Earthshot Prize tackle Africa’s climate change in Lagos

MultiChoice has partnered with the Earthshot Prize, a global environmental initiative, to host “Tackling Africa’s Climate Change Challenge” in Lagos.

The event gathered environmental innovators, enthusiasts, and activists, including Hannah Jones, CEO of the Earthshot Prize, Temilade Salami-Temi Global, and Olumide Idowu-Mr Climate, to discuss sustainable solutions for Africa.

Atinuke Babatunde, Academy Director of West Africa at MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), highlighted storytelling’s crucial role in addressing global environmental issues. She emphasized the power of human ingenuity and innovation in overcoming climate challenges.

Hannah Jones underscored the urgency of addressing environmental threats and the importance of the Earthshot Prize in promoting innovative solutions. She called for swift and decisive action to protect and restore the natural world.

The event also featured video presentations by MTF students, including “Revive the Ocean,” “Racing Against Time,” and “2070,” showcasing efforts to address environmental issues through storytelling.

The Earthshot Prize, founded by Prince William, aims to incentivize change and repair the planet over the next ten years through five key areas: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate.
