NSACC breakfast highlights MoMo PSB’s impact on cashless payments

The Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) hosted the August Breakfast Forum sponsored by MTN Nigeria at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday the 29th of August, 2024. The session, themed “Financial Inclusion and Cashless Payments: The MoMo PSB Way, Two Years On” had prominent business leaders and stakeholders from both nations present, discussing how to strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and South Africa.

The NSACC is a business organisation dedicated to strengthening and expanding ties in trade and investment between South Africa and Nigeria. NSACC, founded in May 2000, provides a forum for businesses, entrepreneurs, and industry executives from both nations to interact, cooperate, and explore commercial prospects. Through its activities, the Chamber continues to be a vital link in the economic relationship between the two countries.

Femi Aminu, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, MoMo PSB, had an insightful presentation on how MoMo PSB is an active advocate for financial inclusion and how the fintech plans to continuously advocate for this cause. “At MoMo PSB, our mission is to bridge the financial gap by providing accessible, user-friendly financial services that empower individuals and communities. We are committed to promoting financial inclusion by ensuring that even the most underserved populations can easily access and benefit from our digital financial solutions.”

One of the key takeaways from the session was MoMo PSB’s commitment to further improve its services to comply with the cashless policy of the country. To meet the specific requirements of various customer sectors, such as small enterprises, women entrepreneurs, and rural populations, the bank plans to further drive digital transformation by launching more user-friendly payment solutions.

The event ended with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees spoke about the future of cashless payments in Nigeria and how MoMo PSB can influence this development. The breakfast meeting demonstrated the continuous efforts being made by MoMo PSB to lead the charge in transforming Nigeria’s financial ecosystem to make it more accessible.

MTN Nigeria’s sponsorship of the NSACC Breakfast Meeting aligns with the company’s broader strategy to foster regional economic development and support initiatives that create value for businesses and communities.
