Marketing communications expert and Principal Consultant/CEO at Sodium Brand Solutions Limited, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, has been appointed Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) by the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This was contained in a press statement released yesterday by the presidency.
Also appointed were Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the Atiku Campaign as his Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications (State House), Olawale Olopade — Director-General, National Sports Commission, and Dr. Adebowale Adedokun — Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement.
NIHOTOUR, a flagship training institute for Nigeria’s Tourism and Hospitality sector is an emergence of Tourism phenomenon as a viable path to socio-economic development led to a fundamental paradigm shift towards service economy worldwide.
Fagade, a seasoned public relations and brand management expert is expected to bring his vast knowledge of brand building and strategy to bear at the commission, which had previously existed by name.
Fagade, who started his career with Soulcomm, Udeme Ufot’s SO&U PR agency, has garnered experience and grew to influence the industry in many aspects.
Fagade is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions, a consortium that produces marketing communications, media, consumer goods, hospitality, oil and gas. He founded the Abisoye Fagade Foundation to empower Nigerian youth, through mentorship and skills transfer.
