Standard Chartered appoints Publicis Groupe as global creative agency

Standard Chartered has appointed Publicis Groupe as its global creative agency handling creative, digital, and production services.
TBWA handled the account for eighteen years and follows a multi-market review started earlier this year led by R3.

In a statement, Claire Dixon, Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank, said: “Following a rigorous pitch process, we have made the decision to award the mandate to Publicis Groupe.

“We are confident that they will be the right partner to take our narrative to the next level, by pushing our creative and digital boundaries.”

She went on to say that Standard Chartered is “thankful to TBWA for their support during the past 18 years,” in bringing the “brand to where it is today.”

The win comes after Publicis earlier this week took home the lion’s share of Mondelez’s business globally. The cagency business includes leading Mondelez’s traditional video, content, and multicultural marketing in the U.S. and Canada.

Publicis won 70% of the global business, up from 30%, which added that Dentsu Media’s Carat did not retain the business in any markets and did not participate in the U.S. review.

Speaking on this win, Amrita Randhawa, CEO of Publicis Groupe Singapore and Southeast Asia said: “It’s a privilege to be shaping a global brand of this stature and ambition out of Singapore and I could not be prouder of the team behind this win – they are absolute champions. We look forward to bringing the best of Publicis Groupe to bear on the business.”
