The Industry Summit, berthed in 2020 to thoroughly dissect innate issues affecting the industry sector of the nation’s economy.
Ever since then, The Industry Summit has been a one-stop avenue for captains of big corporate entities and giant industry players to feast on matters that will either make or mar the fulcrum of the money-spinning sector of the African largest economy.
In its third edition, The Industry Summit has been previously known for its nights of engaging discourses, however this year’s edition comes with a lot of firsts.
Drifting away from its known tradition of merging a lecture with a buffet dinner in a one super-packed event, the 2022 edition of the crowd-pulling summit has been delineated to be a one big gathering of titans wearing two viable wings – morning and night event.
While the lecture takes place in the morning, the awards and dinner come up in the night of the same day.
Billed to have three sitting governors in attendance, The Industry Summit 3 promised to be a chartbuster, the replica of what you hardly find anywhere else.
Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the executive governor of Lagos State, who is the chief host and recipient of Governor of The Year – Economy award. He is so honoured for his relentless efforts at creating life-changing jobs for the ever-industrious people of the upwardly mobile state. Needless to say that Lagos apart from being the fastest growing economy on African continent, it is the commercial hub of Nigeria.
His counterpart from Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Emmanuel Udom, would be awarded the Governor of The Year – Infrastructure. The garland falls on the proactive governor for his historic exploits in changing the sleepy state of Akwa Ibom to a sprawling one through his highly dedicated development driven infrastructural footprints.
Needless to say, that Udom’s dedication to infrastructure has changed and moved the state to the stature of a beautiful bride before all local and foreign investors. Today, Akwa Ibom State has become a destination for both intending and established investors.
The energetic and workaholic governor of Borno State, Mr. Babagana Zulum, who amid daunting instability occasioned by the untoward actions of the Boko Haram insurgents, has been churning out mindboggling infrastructures to deliberately place the state on not only the national scene but also obviously given the crisis-ridden state a new impressive narratives on the international scenes.
And, Zulum, for his rare and exemplary performance, The Industry Summit 3 will be crowning his unexpected achievements with the award of the Overall Best Governor of The Year. Just beat that!
Dr. Biodun Shobanjo, the doyen of the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) industry in Sub-Sahara Africa has been pegged down to be recognised as a Lifetime Awardee. The compelling event, fully focused on the financial industry, has the time-honoured theme of “Financial Inclusion, Digital Payment And The Challenges Of Banking The Unbanked”, the theme deliberately so designed to provoke conversation around large chunk of unbanked population particularly in the rural area in Nigeria.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, will be the keynote speaker.
The CBN Governor is also slated to bag an award as the Regulatory Officer of The Year, a decision arrived at based on his administrative ingenuity at driving the Federal Government’s cashless policy, especially the introduction of e-Naira.
Do not forget that the first edition of The Industry Summit held at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, themed “The Power Of Advertising” had Mr Lanre Adisa, Chief Executive Officer, Noah’s Ark Communications, as the keynote speaker.
The second edition, held at the same- venue, was themed “Addressing The Balance Question In The Management Of Corporate Social Investment Portfolio During Crisis”, had Dr Onyekachi Onubogu, Chief Executive Officer, Frutta Juice & Services as keynote speaker.
