Champion Breweries bets on Bullet to drive FX revenue

Champion Breweries

Champion Breweries Plc, a subsidiary of enJOYcorp and member of the EverCorp family, is acquiring the Bullet brand, an alcoholic and energy beverage, to boost foreign exchange earnings and strengthen its financial stability.

The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals, will see Champion Breweries take ownership of all brand assets and intellectual property for Bullet from Sun Mark International Limited.

Champion Breweries will hold a majority stake in the brand under a new Netherlands-based entity, while Vinar N.V., a Belgian entity and majority shareholder of Sun Mark, will retain a minority stake.

“The acquisition marks a transformative step for Champion Breweries,” said Imo-Abasi Jacob, Chairman of Champion Breweries. “It expands our portfolio to include high-growth categories with strong consumer demand. Bullet’s international footprint and brand strength align perfectly with our vision for sustainable growth and market leadership.”

David Butler, Managing Director of enJOYcorp, added, “We see potential in Bullet as a truly global African brand. We’ll accelerate growth through new product launches, market entries, and strategic synergies across our operations, working with existing partners and strengthening distribution reach.”

The acquisition will leverage synergies such as shared distribution routes, consolidated warehousing, integrated stock management, and centralized resource allocation to maximize efficiency.

Champion Breweries has already approved new Bullet products for rollout in 2026, with plans to target additional African and global markets.
