Champion Breweries Plc has reported revenue of N35.73bn for the first half of 2026, supported by improved operating performance and the acquisition of an 80 per cent equity stake in EnjoyBev B.V., despite higher finance costs weighing on profitability.
The brewer, in its unaudited results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, also posted an operating profit of ₦6.17bn and a profit after tax attributable to the Group of N2.65bn.
Second-quarter revenue stood at N21.37bn, while profit after tax for the quarter was N1.76bn.
The company said revenue growth reflected continued demand across its beverage portfolio and contributions from its expanded operations following the acquisition completed in the first quarter.

Operating profit remained resilient despite continued spending on route-to-market expansion, brand development, distribution capabilities and other strategic initiatives.
Champion Breweries noted that profitability was affected by higher finance costs linked to acquisition funding and prevailing interest rates. During the period, the company completed the acquisition of an 80 per cent equity interest in EnjoyBev B.V., resulting in its first consolidated Group financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS 10.
The company said the transaction broadens its business beyond brewing into complementary beverage categories and additional regional markets. Champion also completed a capital-raising programme during the period, increasing shareholders’ equity to N69.08bn.
It added that its free float rose to 25.72 per cent as of June 30, 2026, maintaining compliance with Nigerian Exchange listing requirements. Commenting on the results, the acting Managing Director, Rasheed Adebiyi, said the acquisition marked a significant milestone for the company.
“The first half of 2026 marks a defining chapter in Champion Breweries’ journey. We have not only delivered a strong operating performance but also successfully transformed our business into a broader beverage group with an expanded platform for sustainable growth.
“While higher finance costs associated with our strategic investment programme impacted profitability during the period, our underlying business remains strong. The combination of disciplined commercial execution, continued investment in our brands and route-to-market capabilities and improving operational efficiency positions us well for future growth.
“We remain focused on creating long-term value for shareholders, strengthening our market position, and capturing the opportunities presented by our expanded business platform.”
The company said the combination of the acquisition, a stronger capital base and resilient operating performance had strengthened its position as a diversified beverage group with capacity for future expansion.
