inDrive launches free parcel cover for Nigerian entrepreneurs

Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has launched free parcel coverage for business users of its courier service in Nigeria, offering protection for parcels valued at up to ₦50,000 against loss or damage during delivery.

The initiative aims to strengthen confidence among small business owners and entrepreneurs who depend on last-mile delivery services to reach customers. Under the scheme, eligible users can receive compensation if their parcels are lost or damaged in transit.

According to the company, users must report any delivery issues to inDrive Customer Support through the app within 48 hours of parcel pickup to qualify for compensation.

The new parcel coverage complements existing features on the inDrive.Courier platform, including real-time parcel tracking, courier verification and delivery tracking links that users can share with recipients.

Business users can also choose between motorcycles and cars based on parcel size, select couriers by their ratings, negotiate delivery fares and plan multi-stop delivery routes.

Eligible users will see a parcel coverage banner in the order form and during active deliveries. If a covered parcel is lost or damaged, they can file a claim through the in-app Customer Support. The company said it typically reviews claims within three to seven days and processes refunds within 14 days after users submit their bank details, subject to the ₦50,000 coverage limit.

inDrive added that all couriers undergo identity verification, including government ID validation and, where applicable, driver’s licence verification before accepting delivery requests. The parcel coverage is available to eligible inDrive. Courier business users in Nigeria at no extra cost.

Speaking on the launch, Timothy Oladimeji, Country Manager, inDrive Nigeria, said the initiative addresses one of the biggest concerns for businesses that rely on courier services.
