Stakeholders have commended Nigerian Breweries Plc’s impressive financial performance in the first quarter of 2025, citing it as a sign of the company’s return to rewarding shareholder value and stability in the brewery industry. The company’s Q1 2025 results show significant growth, with total assets reaching N1.144 billion, revenue soaring to N383.64 billion, and a gross profit of N166.57 billion.
The company posted a profit after tax of N44.55 billion, a notable improvement from a loss of N52.09 billion in Q1 2024. Basic earnings per share stood at N1.43 kobo, up from a drop of N5.07 kobo in the same period last year.
Mike Eze, Managing Director of Crane Securities, commended Nigerian Breweries’ quick return to profitability and expressed optimism that the results will boost capital market activity. Eze believes the performance will spark greater interest in the company’s stocks ahead of the full-year results in September and urged management to sustain the performance for increased shareholder value.

Chibueze Onah, CEO of Francona Services, also praised Nigerian Breweries for navigating forex challenges and steering the brand back to profitability. Onah attributed the company’s past negative results to external factors, particularly exchange rate volatility, but noted that relative stability in the foreign exchange market will likely lead to sustained performance improvements.
Onah commended the company for its effective cost-containment measures, stating that efficient capital utilization will enhance stakeholder value. “With increased stability in the market, businesses can plan better and organize resources for value returns,” he said.
