The management of Vetiva Capital Management Limited, a Pan-African Financial Services Company, has appointed marketing communications professional, Leke Akinpelu as its Head, Brand and Communication.

In his new role, he is expected to oversee the marketing communication activities which also include developing, defining, and executing the brand strategy for the organisation among others. 

Prior to that, he was the Communications Manager at Rebuild Lagos Trust Fund. 

Akinpelu is a Marketing Communications Professional with experience in Perception management, Media Relations, Account Management, Budget Planning, Implementation, and Control across various sectors including the Development sector, FMCGs, Financial Services, and Aviation.

He started his career at Preparation for Life Limited as Education Counselling Officer before he moved to HM Revenue & Customs as an Administrative/Communications Officer.

Thereafter, he joined Verdant Zeal as Public Relations Manager and later moved to Sterling Bank Plc as Media & Reputation Management. 

After leaving the Banking world, he moved to the oil and gas industry to join Oando Plc. He was in the Corporate Communication department where he oversaw the foundation’s communications and branding strategy and activities related to programmes management, implementation, and monitoring. Also, he was involved in the strategies and coordinating of E-communication strategies, new media approach, and applications for internal and external stakeholders of the company.

Akinpelu holds a National Diploma in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the Polytechnic, Ibadan. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the Olabisi Onabanjo University (O.O.U), Ogun State, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from the University of Glamorgan. 

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
