Over 100 students of Lagos State University (LASU), Olabisi Onabanjo University, and Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, will converge in Lagos during Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) conference to listen to experts view on intersection between AI and management operations

The conference, scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, in Lagos, will bring together academics, advertising practitioners, marketing professionals, brand communication experts and technology stakeholders to discuss the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Nigeria’s advertising industry.

With the theme, “Advertising in Nigeria & AI: Who Needs Creative Agency?”, the conference is expected to provide a platform for discussions on how emerging technologies are transforming advertising practice, creative agency operations, marketing strategies, and professional training.

The participation of tertiary institutions is expected to broaden discussions on the implications of AI for communication education, research, curriculum development, and the preparation of students for careers in the evolving advertising and marketing industries.

As AI-powered tools become increasingly integrated into content creation, consumer research, campaign planning, and audience engagement, academic institutions face the challenge of ensuring that students acquire the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven communication environment.

The conference will also examine how advertising agencies can integrate AI into their operations while preserving human creativity, strategic thinking, cultural understanding, and professional judgment.
