Efe Obiomah, a renowned public relations expert, marketing strategist, and trainer, has announced that her second book, How to Build a Successful Public Relations Career in Nigeria, will be released on Monday, 16 February 2026.
This follows her debut short-story collection, The Unfettered Woman, released in July 2025.
Obiomah describes her new book as “the book the public relations industry expected when she released The Unfettered Woman, and states that her latest work is a timely contribution to Nigeria’s public relations landscape, coinciding with her 20th anniversary as a public relations and marketing practitioner.

“As a young PR practitioner, I longed for books from industry veterans that I could learn from, but there were none. As an established practitioner and trainer, I searched for books by local authors that I could recommend to my students but still couldn’t find any that were compelling enough. My book fills this market gap.
“There is no public relations book like it in Nigeria. How to Build a Successful Public Relations Career in Nigeria will provide aspiring practitioners with the foundational knowledge they need to thrive, while offering established professionals tools to strengthen their practice.”
Obiomah notes that a standout feature of the book is her proprietary framework, The Influence and Progression Model, which she describes as a blueprint for successfully managing relationships with internal stakeholders.
Tailored to the Nigerian context while drawing on global best practices, How to Build a Successful Public Relations Career in Nigeria clarifies the definition of PR and debunks common misconceptions about it, offers insight into the roles and functions of PR within business and society, breaks down in-house versus consultancy practice, and shares local case studies based on Obiomah’s professional experience that bring theory to life.
The book is positioned to become an essential resource for anyone serious about building a career in public relations in Nigeria.
