In a bold pivot that puts voice at the heart of financial inclusion, a Nigerian-born fintech startup PayPatch has announced its groundbreaking voice-powered banking platform — designed not for Silicon Valley elites, but for the 600 million Africans still locked out of modern banking.
While most African fintechs chase app-native, urban users, PayPatch is building for the masses — farmers, traders, market women, taxi drivers — who transact in cash, dialects, and trust. Forget typing, swiping, or scrolling. With PayPatch, users simply say what they need
To scale beyond consumer access, PayPatch is also launching Perimeter, a proprietary multi-rail payment gateway designed to power banks, fintechs, merchants, POS networks, and crypto platforms across Africa.

Perimeter supports SWIFT and IBAN transfers, card payments, mobile money, USSD, crypto rails, and smart FX routing, enabling faster cross-border settlement and broader access to Africa’s informal and semi-formal economy.
What makes PayPatch’s approach notable is its dual-layer strategy. While voice banking serves as the distribution layer, Perimeter functions as the infrastructure layer, allowing financial institutions and platforms to reach users who already move money daily through informal channels. Together, the two products are designed to bridge the gap between how money moves in Africa today and how digital finance is built.
With over 350 million unbanked Africans and more than 60 percent of the workforce operating informally, PayPatch is positioning itself at the intersection of financial inclusion and core payments infrastructure. The bet is clear: Africa’s next fintech wave will not be driven by premium apps alone, but by systems that work for scale, simplicity, and the realities of everyday commerce.
